I'm Andrés, a tutor in Philadelphia. This page covers andresthetutor.com, Homework Forge (my practice app), and the records I keep when I tutor you. I collect only what I need, and I don't sell it or use it for ads.

What I collect

  • Messages: what you send through the contact form or the score predictor, so I can write back or send your results.
  • Payments: your name, email and billing details from Stripe. I never see your full card number.
  • Homework Forge (free or paid account): your name, email, answers, scores and any files you upload. If you upgrade, your history comes with you. If a teacher adds you to a class, they see your practice, your SAT scores and your chats with the AI helper.
  • Tutoring: session notes, scores, and contact details for you and your parents. Sessions are on Zoom, and I keep its transcripts and summaries with my notes.

The AI helper

Your questions to Max, the AI helper, go to Google or Anthropic without your name or email. Chats are saved, and I can read them. If a message suggests a student may be in danger, the helper switches off on that account and I get an email with the student's name and the conversation.

Google Analytics

Both sites use Google Analytics, which sets cookies to count visits (pages, device, rough location); here's how Google uses that data. You can say no on the "OK / No thanks" bar where a site shows one, or block it in your browser settings or with Google's opt-out add-on.

Who helps me run this

These services handle it for me: Stripe (payments), Resend (email), Supabase (the app's database and sign-in, and my tutoring records), Vercel (hosting), Google Gemini and Anthropic Claude (the AI helper; Claude also helps me plan lessons from my notes), Sentry (error reports, without names), Cloudflare (spam checks), Zoom, GitHub (private notes), and Google (email, calendar, Analytics). Most are in the United States. For information from the EU, they use the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or the EU's standard contract clauses.

How long I keep it

Until you ask me to delete it, except payment records, which I keep as long as tax law requires. Old backups can take a little longer to clear.

Ages

You need to be 13 or older. In the EU, you need to be 16, or a parent needs to sign up for you. If you think a child under 13 (under 16 in the EU) signed up without a parent, email me and I'll delete it. Parents of students under 18 can see, fix or delete anything I have about their child.

Your rights

Email me to see, fix, delete or get a copy of your information, or to stop me using it. I'll answer within 30 days. Any newsletter or marketing email will have an unsubscribe link.

In the EU or UK, the GDPR backs these rights. I use your information to provide what you asked for, to keep the sites and students safe, to keep tax records, and, where a site asks, with your consent for Analytics. You can also complain to your data protection authority (in France, the CNIL).

Changes and questions

If this changes, I'll update this page and its date, and email you about any big change. Questions? Email hello@andresthetutor.com. The ground rules are in the terms.
